New Jeep Cherokee To Debut in Late 2025

Jeep has confirmed the return of the Cherokee later this year, reintroducing a midsize SUV to its lineup and reentering one of the most competitive segments in the automotive industry.

“This is a historic year for the Jeep brand, with more product, innovation, choice, and standard content for customers than ever before,” said Bob Broderdorf, CEO of Jeep. “The all-new Jeep Cherokee will boast competitive pricing that strikes at the core of the largest vehicle segment and sits perfectly between the Jeep Compass and Jeep Grand Cherokee to bolster our winning mainstream lineup.”

The new Cherokee represents a critical opportunity for Jeep to offer a more affordable option, something the brand has been lacking. In recent years, the lineup has skewed heavily toward higher price points, with models like the Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler often equipped well north of $50,000. This move signals an effort to revitalize the brand as sales have declined in recent years.

Jeep has confirmed that the Cherokee will be available in both internal combustion and hybrid configurations, though it has not yet specified whether the hybrid will be a plug-in.

The previous-generation Cherokee ended production in 2022 at Jeep’s Belvidere, Illinois, plant. Details regarding the new Cherokee’s manufacturing location and starting price have not yet been announced. The official debut is expected later this year.
