Initially introduced in Formula 1 in 2022, the sustainably-crafted medal will now be presented to winners across FIA World Championships. Rally Islas Canarias marks the first time a WRC crew will receive the honour.

The initiative, led by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, aims to create a more personal and lasting symbol of sporting success. Crafted in Milan by Libe Incisioni, the medals are made using a unique process that transforms scrap metal into high-quality items, ensuring minimal waste.

“By celebrating these victories with a sustainably-crafted medal, we not only recognise our race-winners and their achievements, but also highlight the ongoing efforts within our sport to protect and preserve it for future generations,” said Ben Sulayem.
