Shelby American announced the return of the Shelby GT350 today, although this time, the car is an undertaking from Shelby itself, without collaboration with Ford.
Shelby’s new Mustang has a number of parts added to add power and handling. The car is powered by a 5.0 Coyote engine from Ford, with a standard 410 HP, but can make up to 810 HP with the addition of a Whipple supercharger, and an upgraded exhaust from Borla. Keeping the car planted are front and rear lowering springs and front and rear sway bars, and it sits on forged alloy wheels with ‘Shelby spec performance tires’.
As far as styling, the interior sports embro leather seats, 60th anniversary Shelby badging, and plenty of carbon fiber bits to keep things light.
Ford’s has replaced the GT350 in their lineup with their own super Mustang, the Dark Horse, and it’ll be interesting to see comparisons. The GT350 will be on sale later this year with a starting price of $109,995.

I just saw that Shelby is going to return to Trans Am in 2026 with a 3-5 car team, “we’re not just doing this as a publicity stunt, we’re playing to win!”
