Jeep is reviving its Cherokee line—unveiling a completely reimagined 2026 model set to hit showrooms late in 2025.

A Bold Comeback for an Icon

After being discontinued in early 2023, the Cherokee returns for the 2026 model year. According to Jeep’s media arm, the all-new vehicle will debut in late 2025, reigniting the spirit of the brand’s most beloved midsize SUV.

Boxy New Design, Modern Interior

Teaser images and a preview video show a sharper, more upright grille and distinct LED lighting signature. The rear carries a square-edged liftgate framed in glossy black trim—drawing comparisons to both the Wagoneer S EV and European rivals.
Spy shots reveal a cabin that leans heavily into digital design, featuring a curved digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen angled toward the driver, and intuitive touch-sensitive climate controls.

Hybrid at Launch, EV on the Horizon

Built on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform (shared with Wagoneer S and Recon EV), the new Cherokee will debut with a robust hybrid powertrain—and may later expand to include plug-in hybrid and full-electric variants. Jeep described the hybrid as “efficient and powerful,” and emphasized that STLA Large supports all-electric tech .

Size, Positioning & Pricing

The upcoming model lands between the Compass and Grand Cherokee, slotting into the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. It’s expected to be slightly larger than before, which could yield more interior volume and a stiffer road presence .
While final pricing hasn’t been released, early estimates suggest a starting MSRP around $31,500, positioning Jeep as a compelling alternative to rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.

Why Now?

Stellantis is making a strategic bet on revitalizing classic lineup heroes post-2025 as it shifts focus toward more affordable, flexible models. The Cherokee’s return supports efforts to reverse recent sales declines and reconnect with the brand’s core audience. Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf highlighted that the vehicle will bring “more product, innovation, choice and standard content” to the midsize market.
