Electrify Your Fleet

Our vans are now available for purchase

By Rivian February 10th, 2025

You can now purchase the fully-electric Rivian Commercial Van for your business. With a focus on efficiency, productivity, driver safety and comfort, our vans will modernize your commercial fleet without compromise.

Tom Solomon, Rivian Senior Director of B2B Sales & Business Development, shares more on this exciting news.

What types of businesses have been showing the most interest in the vans? We’ve been getting inquiries ever since launching our Amazon fleet. Lots coming in from the trades and delivery services — plumbers and electricians; floral delivery; food service like grocery stores and bakeries; dry cleaning and linen delivery. And more than a few dog groomers. It’s really a wide set of industries.

Assuming this would be the first electric van for most customers — what are business owners most interested in? Yes, most are new to EVs so lots of questions about charging. We can provide guidance on installation and setup for charging. Most customers will use a Level 2 charger, plug-in overnight, and charge to 100%. And of course cost savings — the math on total cost of ownership is always a good topic, which over time can add up to a lot.

How about customization? We’ve partnered with some of the top upfitters in the US so customers can kit out their van pretty much any way they’d like. Every business is unique so we want to make sure they can build whatever they want. You can work directly with our Fleet Sales team to discuss your specific upfit needs.

What have you learned with having millions of miles already accumulated on our vans? The benefit of having our vans already running in so many cities is all the real world feedback we’ve collected. This isn’t an experiment: We’ve been testing and optimizing our vans for a couple years now, and talking to drivers about what they like and what they need. And because our vans are connected vehicles, we’re able to push updates to them and continuously make improvements. It’s a big unlock.

What makes our vans unique for drivers? One of the first things drivers usually comment on is visibility. The massive windshield plus the 360º overhead camera — with all the other sensors and oversized touchscreen — really makes maneuvering a lot easier and helps drivers feel safe. We also get a lot of positive feedback on comfort and ergonomics. Each step from the cabin to the cargo area is considered, down to the grab handle positions for getting in and out. And the driver’s seat — it’s just really comfortable and everything is easy to reach.

What about taking a demo drive? We are planning a demo drive program. Fleet vehicles are a major investment for every size business, and we want our customers to be 100% confident making their purchase. If a customer is interested, the best thing is to use the Contact Us form so we can keep them updated when the program is available in their area.
