Today, Ford dealers across 13 western states donated to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund. With this donation, Ford dealers and Ford Philanthropy have contributed $465,000 to local organizations supporting Los Angeles County wildfire relief efforts, including funding to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
As part of our longstanding history of supporting communities, Ford Philanthropy has donated $8 million to disaster relief efforts in the U.S. since 2020.
We are also offering deferred payments and employee pricing to displaced customers, covering the cost of charging for electric vehicle drivers, sending Mach-E and Lightning owners Tesla charger adapters to allow them greater access to chargers, and giving employees paid-time-off to volunteer.
These efforts and donations are part of Ford’s ongoing support for disaster relief organizations playing a vital role in the response efforts in Los Angeles, including Team Rubicon, American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, and Feeding America.
Disaster Relief
Annually, Ford Philanthropy awards grants to national and local disaster relief partners, as well as providing volunteer opportunities for employees through the Ford Volunteer Corps. With this commitment, the following nonprofit partners can provide immediate support to impacted communities.
- Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian organization, is partnering with Port LA to ensure long-term supplies are available for impacted communities.
- The American Red Cross is providing shelter for evacuees and displaced families as well as essentials.
- Feeding America and their local affiliate LA Regional Food Bank, as well as World Central Kitchen, are on the ground to provide meals and food.
Caring for Customers
To support our Ford and Lincoln customers, Ford Credit deployed deferred payment offers and has worked to provide employee pricing (A-plan) for those affected to purchase a new vehicle.
To assist our electric vehicle owners within FEMA Designated Disaster Area 4856, Ford launched the following initiatives:
- BlueOvalâ„¢ Charge Network California Wildfires Reimbursement. Ford will reimburse all public charging sessions initiated through the BlueOval Charge Network within the designated FEMA disaster area, between January 7 and 31 2025.
- Ford Fast Charging Adapters are available to provide additional charging options at Tesla Supercharger stations for customers with immediate charging needs, such as those who lost access to their home charger or are using their vehicles for disaster relief.  Ford dealerships in the impacted area will receive a limited number of adapters to distribute free of charge.
- Ford Power Promise: If a customer received a complimentary home charger and standard installation through Ford Power Promise and subsequently lost their home in the fires, Ford will replace their charger and cover the cost of a standard installation for a replacement charger.
